“Easy to buy” pure investment gold and equally simple to sell and liquidate the pure metal owned.
The activity carried out by the precious metals desk consists of the sale and purchase of pure gold, silver, platinum and palladium according to real-time quotations received via satellite, as well as the processing, by melting, of alloys, objects, waste and processing offcuts, filings, scrap and of powders and residues, in order to obtain ingots (bars) which are subsequently analysed and refined to obtain from them the pure metals contained therein.
The processing stages are divided into:
Melting: dissolution by high temperature, 1200 degrees, of alloys, objects, waste and processing offcuts, filings and scrap, to obtain a bar or ingot of alloy.
Treatment of powders and processing residues: powders and processing residues are first burnt in high-temperature furnaces, then undergo in succession grinding processes in order to obtain a fine powder. The powder is mixed to make it homogeneous, then analysed and finally melted.
Analysis of precious metals: it is performed by cupellation, a process by which the percentage of pure metal present in an alloy is determined. The analysis laboratory is equipped with cupellation furnaces, furnaces for ash analysis and acid partitioning hoods for the abatement of the harmful substances produced. We are also equipped with a weighing room and we carry out processing checks and bar marking.
Refining: chemical-mechanical treatment by which the pure precious metals (gold, ag, pd, pt) present in the alloys are extracted. During the process, residues with interesting properties are obtained, which find use in other applications.
